Abbott is 7 months!

This little guy is 7 months old. These months are going by incredibly quickly. Abbott is getting more and more grown up it seems every day. He is pretty good at sitting up by himself now, he still has times when he falls over, but he does pretty well. He is also starting to crawl! He has been able to get up on his hands and knees for a while, but he is now figuring out how to move around a little better.

He is just the happiest little guy I could imagine. He loves to play in his jumper or on the floor and if he gets even a little crabby, a cracker or a bath will calm him down and keep him entertained. He loves to eat! Cereal, squash, bananas, carrots, basically anything.....he wants it! He gets so excited when it's time to eat, it's pretty adorable.

I feel like him and Elsie look nothing alike. When I look back at pictures, it seems like she obviously looks like a girl (even though people called her a little boy), and Abbott just looks like a little guy. I guess they have similar eyes maybe, but that's about all I think!! Of course, she needed her picture taken too!

He just always is so smile-y and loves to laugh. I just love him. I feel like I say this all of the time, but it's true! He's my little best bud. He is also starting to babble more. Da-Da, Ba-Ba, are his favorites. He also sticks his tongue out and makes a noise sometimes. It's pretty cute.

Elsie is getting to be a stubborn little 2 year old. When I tell her to stop she yells back and points, "No YOU STOP!!" But she is really usually pretty good and her vocabulary is growing! Every day she says things that amaze me, and some that make us laugh. I told her that we were going to see Santa and she could ask for anything she wanted, like a toy or something she thinks is fun. Her response was "Candy. Please Santa, please" I suppose I can work with that :) She is growing up so fast! She has been potty trained for quite a while now, just wears a diaper at night. She has a little mind of her own, but I love her too, and she's beautiful and funny and cute most of the time!!

Christmas Decorating

This is the first year I have really decided to decorate for Christmas. I used a branch to hang stockings on last year, but that was about the extent of it, considering we had a gross junky house anyways. This year, I decided to use the branch idea and from there, decided on a rustic "theme" with ivory, white, brown, cream....that sort of thing. I still need to wrap some presents, but other than that, I probably won't do much else; I need to work on Christmas presents in my free time instead of decorating!

First up is the tree! I realllly wanted to get a real tree this year, but after weighing the options, I decided to just use our fake 4 foot tree because we are lazy and we already had this. Maybe next year we will start a tradition of going out to get a real tree. I used small lights and old-fashioned ones....I had gotten both a few years ago on clearance! For garland, I had some lace, and I bought some pom-pom strands. For ornaments, I bought some birch slices and hot-glued ribbon onto them.

Then, Elsie and I painted on them. I tried to make the ones she painted look good by painting something on them with black because we didn't have brown, and it was a fail. The owl isn't so bad, but I hate the deer one....

I went outside and gathered some sticks to make stars, broke them into pieces that were pretty straight and about the same length, then hot-glued them together for stars. I got lazy and only made a few, one for the top of the tree.

We don't have a fireplace, so last year, I came up with hanging our stockings from a branch. Last year, I had made some ugly and tacky stockings, so I decided I wanted new ones this year. I used Tom's from last year and added a T because I liked that one. Here are the finished stockings hanging on the branch above our tv:

For the front door, I had a grapevine (Is that what it's called?) wreath that I had used for fall with bittersweet on it. I took that off, bought a monogram F and covered it with yarn.

Then made some felt flowers and hot-glued it all on.

I'm not sure I 100% like it, but it will work!

Christmas time is so pretty!

Now onto making felt food and other things for Christmas gifts!!! Have a happy holidays!

Abbott is 6 months old!

Where has the time gone? This last month has just flown by! Abbott is still a great little baby. He's a little sick today, snotty crusty nose. Hopefully, it will get better soon, he just had a double ear infection, so hopefully that doesn't come back too.

He's starting to sit up on his own...still a little wobbly at times, but he's doing pretty good. He LOVES bathtime and chewing on the foam toys, and any toy really. He's usually so content just playing in his jumper or on the floor. He's really a great baby, and Elsie's going to make him one tough little guy because she likes to hurt him :/

I don't really have much else to write. But here are some pictures:

Abbott is 5 months old!

This little man is 5 months old today! He's getting so big and is such a good little baby, I couldn't ask for much more. He's pretty content playing by himself unless he's tired or hungry, or just wants some cuddle time! The other day, I mowed the lawn and he sat in the bumbo seat outside the whole time just looking around.....while Elsie followed me around screaming. It was fun.

But he is just growing so much. He still loves playing in his jumper and playing with Ellsworth. He also loves taking baths...even when he's crabby! And as always, watching Elsie could probably entertain him for hours.

He started blowing spit bubbles and trying to make other noises....it's pretty cute!

Mmmmmm!

Yeah....I'm pretty cute!

And of course, Elsie had to get ready so I could take her picture! She looks pretty awesome in this outfit though. She needed to put the diaper on too, even though she only wears one at night.

I started giving Abbott oatmeal cereal at night to see if he will sleep better. I had intended to take some cute pictures of his first food, but they didn't turn out so great.....

I just love this little guy though!

Apple Cheddar Pizza

It feels like fall here....it's pretty awesome! So, I decided to make chili last night, and then decided to make a fall-ish side pizza. I had found a list of different kinds of pizza from Food Network magazine a while back, and apple cheddar with bacon pizza was on the list. I thought it sounded good, so we gave it a try!

I made my go-to thin crust dough, pressed it onto my old and gross pizza pan.

Then, added a little olive oil to the top.

Thinly sliced an apple. I'm not sure what kind they are....the little red ones. And got about 1/2 c. of sharp cheddar cheese out.

Then, I arranged the apple slices on the crust.

Added the cheese and it was ready to go into the oven!

While it was baking, I chopped up some fresh thyme (because I always have this on hand. Actually, I rarely use fresh herbs because they are expensive and I don't use them often enough, so I don't buy them.  But I decided to try some on here). I also fried some bacon earlier and crumbled that.

Pizza is all done baking

Next, I drizzled a little maple syrup on top. ( I think this was too much...I would have liked it more with a little less)

Then, topped it with the thyme and bacon.

Chili and apple cheddar pizza

Elsie INSISTED that I take a picture of her plate too. Then, she proceeded to not eat anything off of the plate. :/ It's hit or miss sometimes with her.

I have mixed feelings on this pizza. I really like the first piece right when it was fresh out of the oven, but then the next piece I wasn't so sure. Tom said it was ok. I had forewarned him that it was a side pizza, not just pizza for a meal. He decided he wants things either sweet or savory, and he just couldn't decide what this was. Elsie took one bite and said she didn't like it, but who knows with her.
